Kathy Clavin, LCSW

Child and Family Therapist

Kathy is a licensed clinical social worker and a certified school social worker who is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma. She attended the University of Denver where she received her Master’s of Social Work with a concentration in Child and Youth and Animal-Assisted Interventions. Her undergraduate degree was completed at The University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

The majority of Kathy’s work has focused on providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents with disabilities and significant trauma histories in the school setting. She understands the importance of building trusting relationships to help children thrive across all settings. Kathy utilizes a calm, non-judgmental therapeutic approach to create a safe environment where individuals can express their authentic selves.

Kathy hopes to soon integrate animal-assisted practices into her work as a clinician. In her free time, she loves to hike, bake, and explore new places- but she can usually be found with her border collie, Lakota, or kitty, Norah. Kathy is so excited to join the team at The Child and Family Therapy Center of Denver!
