Amy began her professional life as a music teacher in the public schools of central Illinois, teaching for three years before returning to her alma mater of Illinois State University to pursue an equivalency and master’s degree in music therapy. She completed her internship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where she worked with patients and their families across a wide range of diagnoses and conditions in the cardiac, intensive care, neonatal intensive care, oncology, and psychiatric units.
Following her internship and board certification as a music therapist, Amy spent two years with a private music therapy practice in Northern Colorado, working with children and adults with disabilities across the region. She has experience working with individuals with diagnoses such as autism, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and other conditions.
Amy enjoys building genuine connections with clients and their families through music. She uses evidence based music therapy interventions to help each client find success in reaching their own unique goals.
