All families go through conflict at some point in their relationships. A certain degree of conflict is healthy for family growth. The key is having healthy conflict resolution within the family and to grow from the conflict. Families that are unable to resolve the conflict and live with on-going stress and conflict may benefit from family therapy. Parent-child interaction therapy is also utilized at The Child and Family Therapy Center of Denver. This is a tool for young children between the ages of 2 and 7 who struggle with behavioral barriers including: anger, acting out behaviors, ADHD and low social skills. This therapeutic technique gives parents tools to more effectively parent children that may be particularly challenging.
