Sofia Ramallo, BSW
Child and Family Therapist Intern
Sofía Ramallo is an MSW Student Intern in the Advanced Standing Program at Metropolitan State University. She is working toward her goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Sofia earned her BSW from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2019. She would like to specialize in both Play and Art Therapy, using creativity and experience as a central component of her therapeutic approach.
Sofía has a strong background in child welfare and child protective services. She also has extensive experience working with families affected by divorce and substance abuse. As a first-generation Bolivian-American, Sofía proudly identifies with the Latinx culture. Being bilingual and bicultural, she has a deep understanding of the challenges that come with navigating multiple cultural identities. Sofia is committed to providing trauma-informed care to the individuals and families she serves. Growing up in both Washington, DC, and Florida has shaped Sofía’s diverse worldview. It has fueled her passion for helping children and families thrive. In her free time, Sofia enjoys creating art and spending time with her Pomeranian, Milo. Sofia’s unique cultural background, combined with her dedication to her work, makes her a compassionate and skilled advocate for those she supports.
